Kids Sewing Day - Make a Backpack

Course description

Drop your child or teen off for a one day kids sewing experience designed to teach the basics of machine sewing. This is the perfect workshop to build confidence and skills along with learning essential troubleshooting techniques . Here, our experienced sewing tutor Lauren will go through all aspects of the sewing machine including threading and setting up, different stitches, applique, and making and joining pieces of a simple pattern. Your child will then make their own lined drawstring backpack with an outside pocket and appliqué design. Refreshments are provided, however we do not provide lunch. If your child has any allergies, addition needs, or if there is anything we need to know in preparation for the day please let us know on booking. Class runs from 10am-3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. The price includes materials, sewing machine and sewing kit hire. This is a drop-off course but a carer may stay if that works better with your child. For 9yr olds+, max 6 students.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by Creative Space: • In the event we need to cancel the course or workshop for whatever reason you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another date free of charge. Cancellations by the attendee: • For courses booked and paid directly through Creative Space a refund of 85% will be given up to 14 days prior to the course start date. The fee is to allow for admin and payment processing costs. If a student cancels within 14 days we are unable to offer a refund. • If your circumstances change e.g. due to work commitments, childcare issues, moving away etc. a refund will not be given within 14 days of the workshop. • We consider all requests on an individual basis, depending on the circumstances. Rescheduling: • You may transfer to another course or workshop up to 14 days before the start date.
