Beginners Machine Sewing - FULL DAY

Course description

Get to know your way around a sewing machine and learn the basic techniques to help build your confidence and skills. Includes threading and setting up your machine, creating different stitches, inserting a zip, boxing corners, making and joining pieces of a simple pattern. On this popular course, you’ll spend the time learning how to make a variety of projects to take home using a selection of fabrics provided, including a drawstring bag and a zipped pouch. End the day feeling satisfied with your achievements and more confident using a sewing machine. This full day workshop is a great way to start your sewing journey, and you’ll leave with newfound knowledge, confidence, and inspiration for future projects. Plus, you’ll get to take your lovely handmade items home with you. You will learn: - Threading and using a domestic sewing machine - General sewing techniques - Cutting fabric from a simple pattern - Edge stitching - Sewing a zipper - Boxing corners - Useful troubleshooting tips and tricks - Achieving a professional finish This workshop runs from 10am-4pm and is taught by experienced sewing teacher Lauren Holloway.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by Creative Space: • In the event we need to cancel the course or workshop for whatever reason you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another date free of charge. Cancellations by the attendee: • For courses booked and paid directly through Creative Space a refund of 85% will be given up to 14 days prior to the course start date. The fee is to allow for admin and payment processing costs. If a student cancels within 14 days we are unable to offer a refund. • If your circumstances change e.g. due to work commitments, childcare issues, moving away etc. a refund will not be given within 14 days of the workshop. • We consider all requests on an individual basis, depending on the circumstances. Rescheduling: • You may transfer to another course or workshop up to 14 days before the start date.
